Hand Assembly Worker in Montpelier, IN.


The Hand Assembly Worker will make required inspections of parts as required by quality control.  This role will also operate and monitor machine functions. Lastly, the Hand Assembly Worker will keep boxes made ahead and labels for each part ran on machine according to all that complies with safety rules.

Responsibilities of Hand Assembly Worker:

  • Monitor quality visually and with appropriate test and/or gauges
  • Box and pack when running certain parts
  • Remove finished products
  • Ability to distinguish good/bad parts via provided samples
  • Keep returnable containers clean of old labels, parts and trash
  • Clean all machines between jobs
  • Inform supervisor or set up operator when machine needs adjustments/repair
  • Follow proper housekeeping procedures according to company guidelines
  • Work all scheduled overtime
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Keep machines and work area clean

Requirements of Hand Assembly Worker:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Ability to read measuring equipment
  • Competencies (5-10 Critical Areas of Understanding/Practice for the role)
  • Basic mathematical understanding and ability (add, subtract, divide units of measurement)
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out work instructions written, oral or diagrammatic form
  • Must read at a level to comprehend instructions and labels

Physical Demands

  • Sitting and/or standing 8 hour shift
  • Use of hands, arms, and fingers regularly, pushing and pulling
  • Lifting 5-35 pounds occasionally
