Production Control Specialist in Anderson, IN.


Responsible for ensuring that all direct purchased components are ordered and delivered on time to meet the production schedule and maintain safety stock and inventory levels per the company business plan


  • Analyzes, plans, and follows up on component materials used in production to meet scheduled demands and service delivery requirements
  • Reviews material plan to identify risks and communicates to the Production Control Manager and other Production Control associates as needed
  • Plans materials to meet inventory levels to avoid any shortages and excesses
  • Plans and monitors materials delivery to ensure continuous operations
  • Makes continuous improvements for delivery and material control systems to meet target control objectives
  • Analyzes supply and demand in JDE and establishes material orders for timely delivery
  • Reviews purchase orders and manages them appropriately
  • Investigates delivery problems, analyzes root causes and derives solutions
  • Understands setting lead times, establishing safety stock to negate issues that impact on-time delivery (weather, strikes, capacity, dunnage, etc), BOM, and packing standards for MRP parameters
  • Monitors supply and demand and adjusts orders for timely delivery
  • Coordinates and cooperates with Production, Engineering, and Production Control to achieve scheduling goals
  • Negotiates order deliveries with vendors when there are schedule changes
  • Analyzes current and backlog orders and reschedules delivery as needed
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of relevant planning experience preferred
  • Previous experience with ERP/MRP system preferred
  • Familiarity with JD Edwards a plus
  • Strong computer and math skills, experience with Microsoft Office
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prepare documentation and make presentations
  • Ability to work well cross-functionally and communicate with internal and external parties
  • Ability to organize, plan, allocate resources and prioritize in order to meet multiple overlapping and competing deadlines and strict timelines
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, including ability to collect data, establish facts, draw conclusions and recommend effective corrective action
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strict attention to safety
  • Previous experience in automotive manufacturing or in a multi-cultural environment a plus


  • $60,000-$70,000 a year
