Purchasing Manager in Greencastle, IN. 


  • Will be responsible for developing and executing effective sourcing and purchasing strategies with new and existing business partners for all assigned categories/commodities
  • Oversee vendor selection and purchasing decisions through competitive bidding and strategic sourcing processes
  • Spearhead vendor negotiations to decrease prices for reoccurring purchases
  • Will need to Direct a supply base that achieves benchmarks on quality, cost, delivery, and innovation
  • Will Conduct in-depth cost and spend analyses within your department, develop cost savings initiatives, and achieve all cost reduction savings targets
  • Manage the recruitment, hiring procedures, and professional development of the entire purchasing team
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and market developments in your respective categories
  • Responsible for other duties as they arise


  • Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain or Business is preferred
  • Minimum of five years of buying experience and supplier management
  • Minimum of three years in a supervisory or management role
  • Experience with managing multi-million-dollar portfolios is preferred
  • Must possess a track record of being a results-driven person who consistently meets and exceeds organizational goals
  • Must be a natural problem-solver who possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be proficient with leading negotiations for high value contracts across a large number of SKUs
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems and RFI/RFQ sourcing processes is required


  • Works effectively with all levels of management, personnel, customers, and suppliers
  • Demonstrates leadership and decision-making skills
  • Possesses excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills
  • Effectively trains staff on standard purchasing procedures
  • Prioritizes and assigns tasks to appropriate personnel
  • Creates and maintains strong positive relationships both internally and externally
  • Participates actively on company teams, sales meetings, etc.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem resolution skills
  • Appropriately manages workflow and conflicting operational demands


  • $75,000-$80,000 a year
