The federal unemployment benefits that have been in place since March of 2020 CARES Act, will be coming to an end across the country as, at the time of writing this, the federal government has not chosen to extend the CARES Act. Currently there isn’t much political momentum to extend the CARES Act, so the likelihood of extension is low. With the CARES Act’s unemployment benefits coming to an end, what options are available for you as you look to return to the workforce?

As vaccinations have been fully rolled out, and have received full FDA approval, individuals across the country are starting to return to a more normal life even as the delta variant continues its push. As people return to normalcy and begin ramping up spends on items, they were virtually unavailable to purchase, the number of job openings to feed this demand has continued to rise. According to the Bureau of Labor Statics August job report, in June there were 10.1 million job openings alone. Of those 10.1 million job openings, only .9% of those are due to layoffs and discharges. Lastly, the rate of hires rose to 6.7 million and 4.6%.

What does this mean for you as a job seeker? This means that there is no better time than now to find an employment opportunity. No matter your experience, interests, or desires there is going to be a job opportunity available for you to apply and get hired for.

Not only are there an abundant number of jobs available, but employers are also paying historically high hourly pay to attract and retain talent. In fact, the current market (not federal mandated, but what employers are offering) minimum wage is $15/hr and is often much higher. This level of pay and opportunity is especially high, and abundant, in the light industrial sector.

With such an abundance of job opportunities available in the light industrial sector, it’s important to look for help from a trusted source that can guide you into finding a job that fits your needs and lifestyle.
