Morales Group is looking for an experienced Controller in Greencastle, IN.

Summary Plans and directs accounting activities within the finance department performing the following duties, personally or through subordinate employees.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, budget, and accounting
  • Supervises and participates in the preparation of various financial statements and reports.
  • Directs the installation and maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and expenditures.
  • Directs the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses, and insurance records.
  • Directs and participates in cost analyses and rate studies.
  •  Prepares statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenues.
  • Directs internal audits involving the review of accounting and administrative controls.
  • Establishes system controls for new financial systems and develops procedures to improve existing systems.
  • Coordinates the preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting.
  •  Reviews financial statements with management personnel.
  • Directs the installation and maintenance of new accounting, inventory, property, and other related procedures and controls.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises employees in the Accounting Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, a Controller must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

                       

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university and five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Computer Skills

Must be proficient in MS Office with a strong emphasis in Excel applications.
