Business Equity for Indy (BEI) announces Morales Group, Inc. as participant in inaugural 2023 Workforce Pilot

Indianapolis, IN — December 15, 2022 — Morales Group, Inc. is proud to advance our efforts to build better futures, one story at a time through the Indy Chamber’s Business Equity for Indy (BEI) 2023 Workforce Pilot.

This first-of-its-kind Workforce Pilot will provide resources and guidance to participants, helping them take action to address inequity within their workforce. The curriculum demystifies evidence-based equity strategies and provides support for company implementation at no charge to participants. BEI designed the program to meet companies where they are and help them implement best practices to support the success of Black and Brown employees.

Morales Group, Inc. President and CEO Seth Morales consistently explains, “’Staffing with a purpose’ is our vision, because talent recruitment should serve a higher principle.” Morales regularly portrays the company as “a cause disguised as a business,” and describes the primary function of the business as serving the community through employment.

Senior Outreach Manager Cynthia Hobbs shares, “We believe in the power of uniting all communities to move the world forward. We are committed to being leaders in the workplace in building a diverse, inclusive team and culture through the lens of our core values—be humble, be courageous and be a light.”

Morales places great importance on the Morales Group, Inc. team to prioritize initiatives that clearly align with these values. This includes hosting regular diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) trainings, engaging company-wide in service projects that embrace underserved communities like our immigrant and refugee populations, and creating career pathways and advancement opportunities for all team members.

“The Morales Group has the opportunity and responsibility to positively impact our external teammates, internal teammates, outreach community partners, and community as a whole,” VP of HR and Culture Monique Charlebois shared.

These initiatives have helped Morales cultivate a highly diverse talent pool, reporting 88% of external teammates in 2022 as belonging to ethnically and racially diverse communities, and only 12% of external teammates self-identifying as White or Caucasian only. “By focusing on DEI, we believe this will increase diversity of thought within our organization which in turn will grow the business,” Charlebois added.

Charlebois and Hobbs will lead Morales Group, Inc.’s efforts through participation of this program. We believe the implementation of strategies this Workforce Pilot promises to deliver will help more Indianapolis companies build and retain diverse teams—a proven way to spur innovation, increase competitiveness, and continue to build better futures for community members across the region.
