Sweet Treats and Supporting Black-Owned Businesses

In celebration of Valentine’s Day, our Morales Group leadership team wanted to do something special for all of our incredible teammates, while also honoring the significance of Black History Month. As we have many offices, we collaborated with black-owned bakeries that were local to each branch. We supported and purchased sweet treats from these three local black-owned bakeries, Sweeties GT, Blondery, and Kizito. This initiative allowed us to make our teammates feel the love in a unique way. Supporting and giving back to these wonderful, black-owned businesses was truly the highlight of our day and month.

The Significance of Black History Month

Black History Month, observed every February, is a time to recognize and celebrate the achievements, history, and culture of African Americans. It is a staunch reminder of the struggles faced by people of color throughout history, as well as an opportunity to honor the remarkable accomplishments and contributions they have made to society. By highlighting the achievements of black leaders, artists, activists, and thinkers, we can foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of the diverse fabric that makes up our world.

Our Sweet Treat Partnerships

Sweeties GT, Blondery, and Kizito are three outstanding black-owned bakeries that we had the privilege of collaborating with for this special occasion. Each of these businesses brings its unique story, flair, expertise, and love for its craft to create mouthwatering treats that leave a lasting impression.

  1. Sweeties GT is a beloved local bakery that infuses its creations with the essence of soulful baking. From their indulgent cakes to their heavenly pastries, Sweeties GT delights taste buds with every bite. With a commitment to quality ingredients and innovative flavors, this black-owned bakery has become a community favorite. Sweeties GT loves spreading joy and sweetness wherever they go.
  2. Blondery is a sweet haven that specializes in crafting exquisite blondies, a delectable twist on the classic brownie. Their delectable treats are created with meticulous attention to detail, resulting in tantalizing flavor combinations and beautifully crafted desserts. Founded by Auzerais Bellamy, a talented pastry chef with a passion for her craft, Blondery has gained recognition for its commitment to excellence and creativity.
  3. Kizito is a bakery with a rich history, rooted in tradition and a dedication to authentic recipes. Known for their mouthwatering bread, pastries, and desserts, Kizito delights customers with every bite. This black-owned bakery, founded by Father Francis Kizito, showcases the importance of passing down culinary traditions and preserving cultural heritage through the art of baking.

Supporting Black-Owned Businesses and Spreading Love and Appreciation

We distributed the delightful treats to our team members all across Indiana and Kentucky. Sweeties GT serves the greater Indianapolis area. Blondery is a 100% Women & Black-owned business that served our Anderson, Columbus, and Lafayette locations. By popular demand, Kizito made the treats for our Louisville location. These treats provided a moment of indulgence for our teammates. Also, they served as a way to show support to so many amazing local black-owned businesses.

Let us embrace the spirit of love, and unity, supporting local black-owned businesses and working towards a more inclusive future. Together, we can create a world that cherishes diversity and celebrates the contributions of all individuals.
